Does Slavster play Blakan folk music in a rock/jazz setting? Yep. Do they infuse this music with several other styles to create a truly unique type of music? You betcha. Will this music make you wanna get up and dance around like a crazy person? You bet your ass (if you can keep it from moving long enough). Did they do this in the early 90's in L.A.? That's the nutso part - they did! You heard me - almost 30 years ago dude.

Founded by guitarist visionary Miroslav Tadic, and rounded out by Peter Epstein, Andy Barbera, J A Granelli and David Shaffer - Slavster combined music that brought them only joy and played it with only love and reckless abandon, crowds danced until they were a a hot sweaty mess.

Other than some truly epic dance parties at California Institute for the Arts, the band played around L.A including many gigs at the legendary Largo. These recordings are a compilation of several songs recorded at Cal Arts as well as a live radio broadcast at radio station KPFK at an ungodly hour of the morning. Then life happened, people moved, a record deal was almost had, earthquakes quaked and this music went silent for nearly 30 years....... Well it's back! Slavster Lives. Enjoy it and play it LOUD.
